Department Structure
The Denton County Sheriff’s Department Communications
Division is comprised of 27 employees.
We are comprised of 1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, 3 Sergeants, 3 Corporals, 17 Communications Officers
and
2 Communications
Officers I, providing 24 hour Emergency Services to the citizens of Denton County.
Each employee obtains a Telecommunication Operator Certification by the
State of Texas; obtains TCIC/NCIC Certification by the State of Texas; obtains
Emergency Medical Dispatch certification by the NAEMD and specialized training
in the Computer Aided Dispatch and Denton County Criminal Justice Computer
System through our own in-house training department.
Agencies We Service
The Communications Division handles 911 and Non-Emergency service for
the unincorporated areas of Denton County as well as the following Cities /
Towns: Argyle, Aubrey, Bartonville,
Corinth, Double Oak, Hickory Creek, Justin, Krum, Little Elm, Marshall Creek,
Northlake, Oak Point, Pilot Point, Ponder, Sanger and Trophy Club.
We also dispatch Fire/EMS service for the above cities and the City of Roanoke; as well as
providing dispatch service for the Denton County Constable Offices, Fire
Marshal, Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Texas Department of Public Safety
Denton / Sanger Troopers. For more information on these agencies and the

Call Statistics
During Fiscal Year 05-06, the Communications Division handled
over 330,000 calls from the public and other agencies. Of those calls, over 147,000 Public Requests for Service were
made for the agencies served by the Department.
This Fiscal Year, the Department expects to process close to 360,000 calls from
the public and other agencies and close to 160,000 Public Requests for services.
